Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has revealed details of a frightening incident from the 2013 IPL, when — by his own account — an intoxicated Australian cricketer allegedly dangled him over a hotel balcony on the 15th floor.

A claim about 2013, no name given
Chahal said the incident took place during the 2013 Indian Premier League season. According to his account, the Australian player was intoxicated and held him over the balcony railing of the 15th floor of the hotel. Chahal said he clung to the player's neck until others intervened and pulled him to safety. He described the experience as being like a second birth.

Importantly, Chahal clarified that the individual was neither Andrew Symonds nor James Franklin — the two names that had come up in speculation — but he did not name the player involved. Chahal's account is his own claim; it has not been independently verified.

A career of comebacks
The revelation comes in a season in which Chahal remains part of India's white-ball plans. The 35-year-old leg-spinner retired from first-class cricket earlier this month, saying his hunger to play for India is still alive.
