Ajay Devgn's Drishyam: The Conclusion, the third and final chapter of the blockbuster crime-thriller franchise, stormed past Rs 50 crore in gross collections in India within hours of its release on Gandhi Jayanti, according to live trade tracking, as early reviews hailed it as a worthy finale.

Monster Opening Day

Live trade tracker boxofficeindia24 reported that the film had taken Rs 50.29 crore gross from 13.32 lakh tickets by 9 AM on Friday, with Maharashtra leading the pack at Rs 17.13 crore, followed by Delhi. The tracker projected the day could end near Rs 58 crore nett, in a range of Rs 56 to 62 crore.

The opening is fuelled by record pre-release demand. Trade reports said the film sold tickets worth roughly Rs 19.7 crore for Friday alone through advance bookings, with over 11 lakh tickets moved across about 36,000 shows, according to The Indian Express. The film has released on more than 1,300 screens across 60 countries, the widest rollout in the franchise's history.

Reviews Call It Outstanding

Early reactions have been effusive. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh gave the film 4.5 stars in his review, calling it "OUTSTANDING", describing it as without doubt the best film in the Drishyam franchise and among the best films of 2026, and a "sure-shot blockbuster", MensXP reported. He singled out the face-off between Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat — who joins the cast as SP Crime Branch officer Rajveer Singh Tomar — as the film's biggest high point.

Audience reactions circulating on social media echoed the trade verdict, with early viewers calling it brilliant and even better than the first two parts, and predicting a box-office tsunami.

The End of an Era

Unlike the first two films, which were adaptations of the Malayalam originals, Drishyam: The Conclusion is based on an original screenplay, with Devgn returning as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav. With a national-holiday release, a solo window with no major competition and trade projections north of Rs 50 crore for day one, the finale is on course to become Ajay Devgn's biggest opener ever.
