Taylor Swift will take the stage at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures announced on Thursday, October 8 — with the pop superstar set to close the star-studded fundraising evening in Los Angeles on October 17, 2026.
According to the museum's announcement, as reported by USA Today, Swift's performance will bring down the curtain on an evening honouring three film-world figures: filmmaker and composer John Carpenter, two-time Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo, and Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron.
Amy Homma, director and president of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection, said in the museum's press release that Swift's performance will close the evening, USA Today reported.
A starry fundraiser
The gala is co-chaired by Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw, with Rolex as the presenting partner, according to USA Today and MyNewsLA. The fundraiser supports the museum's exhibitions, educational programming, public screenings and preservation efforts.
The announcement lands as Swift continues expanding her footprint in film and television. She premiered her cinematic "Patient Zero" music video — starring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell — at the MTV VMAs on September 27, where she also received the inaugural Artist Director Honors award, and made a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live" on October 3, USA Today noted.
The Academy Museum Gala has become one of Hollywood's marquee autumn events, drawing leading names from film, fashion and music to support the museum's programming in its sixth year. This year's lineup pairs one of the world's biggest touring artists with a slate of honorees spanning horror cinema, acting and directing.
