Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan are teaming up again — this time for an out-and-out comedy directed by Sajid Khan, nearly 14 years after they last shared the screen in Housefull 2.
The untitled film will be produced by Ektaa R Kapoor, with Shriya Saran and Disha Patani joining the cast, Mid-Day reported on Saturday. The project is expected to go on floors in London.
From rivals to co-stars again
The reunion follows Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh (2025), in which Kumar and Madhavan played each other's rival. This time the two will share the screen in a full-fledged comedy, with Khan — described as a close friend and collaborator of Kumar — directing.
For Kumar, the film looks like a deliberate return to his comic roots. After Priyadarshan-directed Haiwaan failed to make an impact at the box office, the actor is reportedly keen to lean into the genre that has long been one of his strengths. Comedy, as Mid-Day put it, is his jam.
