Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has released a short notification announcing 2,721 tentative teacher vacancies under the AP Teacher Recruitment Test (APTRT) 2026, conducted through the District Selection Committee (DSC) process. The detailed notification, carrying eligibility rules, application dates and the exam schedule, is expected on or before November 3, 2026.
The short notification was issued on October 13, 2026, formally starting the recruitment cycle for teaching and related posts across the state's school system. As in previous cycles, the selection process will be an objective-type computer-based test, with applications accepted online through the official portal tet2dsc.apcfss.in.
Post-wise vacancy breakup
The 2,721 posts are spread across nine categories. The largest share goes to Secondary Grade Teachers, with 1,205 vacancies, followed by 906 School Assistant posts. Special education accounts for 350 posts — 150 School Assistant (Special Education) and 200 Secondary Grade Teacher (Special Education) positions.
The remaining posts include 113 Trained Graduate Teacher, 81 Post Graduate Teacher, 30 Principal, 34 Physical Education Teacher and 2 Physical Director vacancies.
Sector-wise distribution
Of the total, 2,111 posts fall in general government and local-body schools, including Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad and municipal schools. Another 350 posts are in special education institutions, and 260 posts are in societies and other educational managements.
The department has made clear that the vacancies are tentative and may be revised when the detailed notification is published. Application dates, eligibility criteria, age limits and the examination schedule have not been announced yet and will come only with the detailed notification.
Aspirants are advised to rely solely on the official portal for updates, as recruitment drives of this scale routinely attract fake notices on social media.
