The Premier League has officially confirmed that Manchester City have been found guilty of all charges of serious breaches of the league's financial rules between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons, in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 29.

The league's statement marks the formal conclusion of one of the most significant disciplinary cases in English football history. Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said: "The core decision... details how the club systematically broke Premier League Rules for nearly a decade." He added: "There are elements of the case that remain to be decided, including, importantly, what sanction must follow for these breaches."

The sanction will be decided at a separate hearing, leaving the club's punishment — which could range from a points deduction to more severe penalties — to be determined at a later date.

The official confirmation follows days of reporting that an independent commission had reached its verdict, and gives the league's imprimatur to a case that has hung over English football for years. The charges relate to the club's financial reporting and revenue declarations across a nine-season span.

The ruling sets up what is likely to be a closely watched sanction process, with the outcome carrying major implications for the Premier League table, the club's future, and the governance of football finance across Europe.
