Brommapojkarna ended two decades of frustration against Stockholm rivals AIK in the most dramatic fashion possible on Saturday, winning 6-5 in Sweden's Allsvenskan after an astonishing nine-goal second half that was only settled in the ninth minute of stoppage time.

Nine goals after the break

After a goalless first half, Simon Strand broke the deadlock for Brommapojkarna one minute into the second period, only for Abdihakim Ali to level for AIK. What followed was extraordinary: the hosts struck four times in 12 minutes to build a seemingly unassailable 5-1 lead with 20 minutes left on the clock.

AIK refused to accept the scoreline. The visitors produced four unanswered goals of their own, with Johan Hove drawing them level at 5-5 in the seventh minute of stoppage time. Just when the game looked certain to end all square, Mads Hansen found the net from close range two minutes later to complete one of the wildest games in Allsvenskan history.

Historic first at the 20th attempt

The victory was Brommapojkarna's first league win over AIK at the 20th attempt, underlining just how long the club had waited for this moment. Despite the win, BP remain 11th on 30 points, while AIK sit ninth on 33 points — a full 21 points behind league leaders Sirius.

The result will go down as one of the most chaotic matches in recent Swedish top-flight history, with 11 goals shared across the two halves and the lead changing hands deep into added time.
