Dow Jones futures will open Sunday evening at 6 p.m. ET, along with S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures, setting up a week crowded with market-moving events — from Micron Technology earnings and a SpaceX Starship launch to key inflation and jobs data.

The week begins with investors digesting mixed geopolitical signals on Iran. President Donald Trump said he rejected Tehran's offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as unacceptable, but later said he expects further talks with Iran to occur this week. Crude oil prices, which fell last week on deal hopes, were indicated modestly higher after Trump's comments.

A week of catalysts

Micron Technology's earnings and guidance will be closely watched as a read-through for fellow memory plays, including Sandisk, SK Hynix and Seagate Technology. Space Exploration Technologies is set to launch Starship Flight 14 on Monday. Tesla will show off the long-delayed new Roadster on Thursday, followed by third-quarter deliveries the next day — all with the stocks involved near buy points.

On the data front, Wednesday's core PCE inflation reading and Friday's jobs report headline a busy week of economic releases, alongside a slate of Fed speeches.

China added its own wrinkle over the weekend. Beijing is signalling that tech giants such as Alibaba and ByteDance may be allowed to buy new Nvidia RTX Pro 5500 chips, The Information reported on Sunday, citing sources — a development investors will track closely for the AI trade.

Where the market stands

The latest trading saw a split picture. Growth stocks powered the Nasdaq to a record high, with the S&P 500 climbing to within reach of all-time peaks, according to Investor's Business Daily. But the Dow Jones and Russell 2000 hit fresh three-month lows before rebounding on Friday. Whether the bounce has legs will be tested as futures reopen and the week's earnings and data roll in.
