Shares of Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) were trading at Rs 854.15 on the NSE by 10:46 AM on Tuesday, gaining 2.05 per cent — or Rs 17.15 — over Monday's close of Rs 837.00, recovering after touching a 52-week low of Rs 832.60 the previous day. The stock's intraday high on Tuesday stood at Rs 862.35.

The rebound followed a quarterly update released on Monday that flagged high-teens consolidated revenue growth, high-single-digit underlying volume growth and double-digit EBITDA growth for Q2 FY27. The standalone India business is expected to post revenue growth in the teens with high-single-digit volume growth, though a trade inventory correction is estimated to shave 100–150 basis points off growth. Indonesia is tracking high-teens revenue growth, while the GAUM segment — covering Africa, USA and West Asia — is expected to deliver robust double-digit revenue and volume growth. Input cost pressures from crude-linked derivatives and palm oils intensified during the quarter, the company said.

Despite Tuesday's bounce, the stock remains deeply in the red on a longer horizon: it is down 31.31 per cent year-to-date and 25.57 per cent over the past year, against a 52-week high of Rs 1,273.90 touched in January 2026. Total market capitalisation stands at Rs 87,405.59 crore.

Analysts were divided on the outlook. Goldman Sachs maintained a Buy rating with a target of Rs 1,030, calling it a strong quarter. JM Financial retained its Buy but cut its target sharply to Rs 985 from Rs 1,215, citing concerns around the leadership transition following the resignation of CEO Sudhir Sitapati. HSBC held its Hold rating at Rs 990, flagging rising cost inflation as a key risk, while CLSA remained the most cautious with an Underperform rating and a target of Rs 743. The stock's price-to-earnings ratio stands at 44.76.

A detailed performance update will follow the board's approval of the Q2 FY27 results.
