India begin their 2026-27 home season today with the first ODI against West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram, starting at 2:00 PM — the opening act of a three-match ODI series followed by five T20Is, and the start of the team's build-up to the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Veteran batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will remain firmly in focus during the ODI leg as the duo push for a place at the 2027 World Cup. Kohli has said the 2027 tournament will be his last for India, telling JioHotstar he wants to "leave everything out there" and that winning the World Cup is the goal. The two last played for India during the 1-2 ODI series defeat in England, where Rohit bounced back with a century at Lord's in the decider.
