IndiaJoy, India's large-format media and entertainment industry event, has unveiled its ninth edition at MIPCOM in Cannes, inviting the international industry to explore content, production and investment opportunities in the country this December.
The event will run from December 7 to 13, 2026, at Bharat Future City in Hyderabad — a city that has grown into a major technology and filmmaking centre with an established animation, visual effects and gaming ecosystem. The launch was attended by Telangana government officials and industry leaders, including Invest Telangana CEO B. Ajith Reddy, Green Gold Animation founder Rajiv Chilaka and TVAGA office-bearers.
A broader platform this year
IndiaJoy is organised by the Government of Telangana and the Telangana VFX, Animation and Gaming Association (TVAGA). This year, for the first time, it will sit under the umbrella of the Invest Telangana Global Summit, which takes place from December 7 to 9 at the same venue — connecting the creative industries with a wider gathering of investors, business leaders and policymakers.
The programme will feature 11 events: Hyderabad Comic Con, DreamHack Hyderabad, VFX Summit, DesiToons, WAVES Bazaar, Indie Game Utsav, Film & Broadcast Expo, Indian Film Conclave, IndiaJoy B2B, Art India and an AI Film Festival. Alongside conferences and roundtables on skills and workforce development, the schedule includes content markets, business matchmaking, investor interactions, experience zones, product launches, screenings and entertainment evenings.
What international participants can expect
For international producers and studios, the organisers are pitching opportunities to identify animation and VFX partners, explore co-productions and meet creative talent. Content buyers, broadcasters and streaming platforms can discover Indian films, animation and original intellectual property, while gaming companies and technology providers can connect with developers and showcase products.
The theme for this year's edition, "Stories, Games, Dreams", reflects IndiaJoy's ambition to connect storytelling and creative talent with technology and business. Founded in 2018, the event has drawn more than 70,000 participants and 10,000 delegates from over 10 countries, according to its organisers.
