itel India has launched the ZENO 100 Pro, an entry-level smartphone priced at Rs 8,599 that packs satellite-based messaging and military-grade durability certification, the company has announced.

Satellite connectivity on a budget

The headline feature of the ZENO 100 Pro is Ultralink, a satellite-based connectivity system that allows users to send and receive messages in locations where conventional mobile networks are unavailable. Bringing satellite messaging to a phone priced under Rs 9,000 marks an unusual step in the budget segment, where such features have so far been limited to premium devices.

The phone also carries MIL-STD-810H certification, a United States military standard that tests devices against environmental stresses including temperature extremes, humidity, vibration and drops.

Specifications and pricing

The ZENO 100 Pro sports a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and DTS audio. It runs on the Unisoc T7100 octa-core processor, paired with 3GB of physical RAM that can be expanded to 8GB using virtual memory, and 64GB of internal storage. The device ships with Android 15 Go, the lighter version of Google's operating system designed for entry-level hardware.

The rear camera is an 8-megapixel unit, while the front gets a 5-megapixel sensor for video calls. The phone includes an infrared blaster to control televisions and air conditioners, face unlock, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging. It comes in three colour options: Comet Orange, Cloud White and Black.

Power banks and a cheaper sibling

Alongside the phone, itel launched two ZENO-branded power banks. The 20,000mAh model, priced at Rs 2,069, delivers 45W fast charging with PD 3.0 and QC 3.0 support, and can power laptops as well as phones. The 10,000mAh model costs Rs 1,299 with 22.5W charging. Both feature digital displays showing remaining battery percentage.

itel also confirmed the ZENO Lite, a more affordable variant with 2GB RAM and 64GB storage, priced at Rs 7,999. All products are available on Amazon India, with a launch offer giving 10 per cent off the power banks when purchased with the smartphone.

"The ZENO Series is a statement that trendy things can be affordable," said Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of itel India. "Despite rising input costs, we have priced them very affordably, proving that staying connected, stylish, and future-ready shouldn't cost a fortune."
