The makers of Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 have issued an official clarification that the film's Hindi version will release theatrically on Thursday, October 15, 2026, alongside all other language versions.
No change to the release plan
In a statement on October 12, the makers said there has been no change to the scheduled Hindi theatrical release. The clarification follows speculation that the Hindi version could be affected by negotiations over the theatrical-to-OTT window, with national multiplex chains such as PVR INOX and Cinepolis generally requiring an eight-week window for Hindi films before they move to streaming.
North India distribution for the film is being handled by Pen Marudhar Entertainment.
One of the year's biggest releases
Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is among the most anticipated Indian releases of the year. The clarification puts to rest the uncertainty that had been circulating in trade circles over whether the Hindi-dubbed version would arrive in theatres on the same date as the original-language versions.
The film is slated to open worldwide on October 15, and advance-booking trends have already pointed to a strong opening for the Rajinikanth-led sequel.
