Marvel Studios has unveiled a new poster for 'Avengers: Doomsday' at Comic-Con Malaga in Spain, and it has sent fans into overdrive — thanks to three mysterious hooded figures standing behind Doctor Doom.
Shared by Marvel Studios on its official X account during the convention on October 3, the new artwork places Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom at the centre of a Latverian throne room, framed by a glowing green stained-glass window. Behind him lurk three masked figures in coloured robes — green, red and purple — identified in promotional materials as Doom's 'Latverian Witches'.
Fan theories run wild
Marvel has revealed nothing about who the witches are or what role they play in the story, but that has not stopped speculation. Fans have linked the red-robed figure to Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen; the green-robed figure to Sylvie, played by Sophia Di Martino in 'Loki'; and the purple-robed figure to Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, or Clea, played by Charlize Theron. These remain fan theories and have not been confirmed by the studio — the figures could equally be characters tied to Doom himself rather than returning heroes or villains.
The witches are not entirely new to the marketing campaign: their costumes appeared at Marvel's booth during San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026, and the throne-room art is a variant on earlier convention posters.
The countdown is on
A stark tagline across the bottom of the poster — '12.18.26 IS DOOMSDAY' — reinforces the film's December 18, 2026 release date and positions it as the MCU's big winter event. Meanwhile, Anthony Mackie has been teasing the film's scale, promising audiences 'a lot of doom' in the Robert Downey Jr.-led crossover.
