OpenAI is preparing to preview a new cybersecurity-focused model called GPT-6 Cyber, according to Fortune — in what would be its fourth security-oriented release this year and the latest sign of the AI giant's push into specialised models.
The model will reportedly first appear in preview in the coming weeks, though the report does not specify an exact date. It will be accompanied by a new consumer "product" that lets customers deploy the model in a more secure manner, while also helping automate workflows and the patching of cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

The model is said to already be in alpha testing, available to a limited number of users through OpenAI's application-only "Daybreak Red" programme. The programme is divided into red and blue access tiers — the Blue tier offers general access to the models, while the Red tier reportedly provides access to the company's most advanced cybersecurity products.
The model is reportedly capable of automatically patching cybersecurity vulnerabilities and stopping bad actors from exploiting them with AI-powered tools. It would also let OpenAI monitor how its models are being utilised.
