Qualcomm has expanded its Snapdragon processor lineup for personal computers with a new entry-level C Series, broadening its push from premium machines into the mass market while adding official Linux support.

The announcement was made during the Snapdragon Summit 2026, held in Maui, where the company also detailed plans for agentic AI hardware developed with Saudi company Humain.

Cheaper AI PCs, broader compatibility
The new C Series targets entry-level and mainstream PCs, giving Qualcomm a chip portfolio that now spans all consumer price tiers. Qualcomm is betting that agentic AI — software agents that observe user patterns and carry out tasks autonomously — will drive a fresh demand cycle for PCs.

The new hardware architecture supports Windows, ChromeOS, and Linux, with official Linux support beginning with the Snapdragon X2 processor: Debian support arrives in late 2026, and Ubuntu certification is expected in early 2027. That will give developers and power users more flexibility in the operating systems they run on Snapdragon hardware.

Headwinds ahead
The company's ambitions face supply-side pressure: ongoing supply issues and elevated memory prices are expected to persist for several quarters, which could limit device availability even as buyers gain access to cheaper AI-capable PCs.
