AC Milan bounced back from their opening-round home defeat in style on Thursday, hammering RB Salzburg 4-0 away in the UEFA Europa League — powered by a stunning hat-trick from 19-year-old Alphadjo Cisse.

Cisse, an Italian teenager, became the youngest Italian player to score a hat-trick in European club competition. His treble was also the first by a Milan player in a continental fixture in 24 years, since Filippo Inzaghi. Remarkably, the youngster netted all three of his goals inside the first 49 minutes. Milan coach Ruben Amorim praised the forward's explosive play and heart after the match. The Italians finished the game with 10 men after Filippo Terracciano was sent off late for a professional foul, but the contest was already beyond Salzburg.

Leverkusen keep perfect record
Bayer Leverkusen made it two wins from two with a 4-0 thrashing of Lech Poznan in Poland. A pair of Patrik Schick penalties did much of the damage as the German side stayed among the group leaders.

Drama elsewhere
Olympique Lyonnais edged Crystal Palace 3-2 in a meeting of two clubs previously both controlled by American businessman John Textor. Pavel Sulc's strike put Lyon 3-1 ahead before Daichi Kamada's late goal set up a nervous finish. The Brazilian duo of Evanilson and Rayan were on the scoresheet as Bournemouth eased to a 3-0 home win over Sturm Graz of Austria in their first-ever home European tie. Sunderland came from behind to win 2-1 at Portuguese side Torreense, with Noah Sadiki netting the winner in the 93rd minute. Bournemouth and Sunderland are two of 10 teams with a full haul of six points from the opening two rounds.

Elsewhere, Benfica thumped Celtic 4-1 with Jhon Duran scoring twice, while Randal Kolo Muani's late winner gave Juventus a 2-1 victory at Celta Vigo to take them top of the standings. Marseille's poor start continued with a 1-0 home loss to Olympiacos Piraeus, leaving them pointless. In the Conference League, AS Monaco won at CSKA Sofia, Brighton & Hove Albion beat Kauno Zalgiris 4-0, and Ajax Amsterdam slipped to a surprise 2-1 defeat at Hajduk Split.
