Sidharth Malhotra's fantasy folk-thriller The Vvaan – Force of the Forrest continues its steady run at the box office, crossing a worldwide gross of Rs 84.59 crore by its thirteenth day, according to trade figures reported by Sacnilk and published by The Week on Thursday.
The Day 13 collection brought the film a career milestone. It has become Malhotra's biggest solo-led theatrical hit in a decade, ending a long stretch in which his solo releases struggled to achieve sustained commercial success.
Second-week slowdown, steady hold
The fantasy folk-thriller, directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and co-starring Tamannaah Bhatia, has slowed in its second week but maintained a presence in several Indian markets. On Day 13, the film earned an estimated Rs 0.80 crore net in India across 1,966 shows nationwide — a 33.3 per cent drop from its Day 12 collection of Rs 1.20 crore.
In total, The Vvaan has collected Rs 65.05 crore net in India, with its India gross at Rs 77.24 crore. Its estimated overseas gross stands at Rs 7.35 crore, taking the worldwide total to Rs 84.59 crore.
The film has benefited from strong support in the Hindi heartland, with markets such as Bihar reportedly performing particularly well, aided by the festive holiday period. Its biggest single-day performance came on Day 3, a Sunday, when it collected Rs 14.35 crore net in India.
A career marker for Malhotra
The Week notes that the film also holds the record for Malhotra's strongest first-week performance in a solo-led movie: Rs 53.60 crore net in India during its first seven days. That puts it ahead of his earlier solo-led releases, including Param Sundari (Rs 43.10 crore first week), Marjaavaan (Rs 37.87 crore) and Hasee Toh Phasee (Rs 27.20 crore).
While early trade reports during the opening weekend suggested The Vvaan could become the actor's biggest career hit, its lifetime trajectory places it behind Ek Villain (2014), which remains his highest-grossing film overall — although that film featured Riteish Deshmukh in a major parallel role within a dual-lead setup.
