Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's folk thriller The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest has cleared its first major weekday test, collecting over Rs 5.25 crore on its fourth day at the box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk data reported on September 28.
The film, which released on September 25, had built strong momentum through its opening weekend, with collections rising each day — Rs 8.12 crore on Friday, Rs 11.41 crore on Saturday and Rs 15.10 crore on Sunday, taking the three-day total to Rs 34.63 crore. The Monday haul pushes its India net collection to approximately Rs 39.88 crore after four days.
Mass centres power the run
The film opened to mixed reviews, but its performance in mass circuits has kept it steady. Bihar has reportedly been one of its strongest markets, with several other mass centres also showing a good response. The Monday figure is significant because it held above the Rs 5 crore mark despite the typical weekday slowdown after a strong weekend, suggesting positive audience word of mouth.
The opening weekend total is comfortably ahead of the post-pandemic weekend figures of Malhotra's recent theatrical releases — Param Sundari, which collected Rs 28.48 crore, and Yodha at Rs 17.51 crore.
Competition ahead
The Vvaan now faces its next big test this Friday with the arrival of Drishyam 3. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra in his feature directorial debut, the film follows Mumbai-based Rishi, played by Malhotra, and his wife Mamta, played by Bhatia, as they become entangled with a mysterious forest. The cast also includes Anup Soni, Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover and Maniesh Paul.
