The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has released the Group 4 Notification 2026, opening applications for 6,574 vacancies across state government departments under the Combined Civil Services Examination-IV.
What the notification covers
The recruitment drive, issued under Advertisement No. 747 and Notification No. 11/2026 on October 6, 2026, spans 46 post entries across various Tamil Nadu government departments, boards and corporations. It covers Village Administrative Officer (VAO), Junior Assistant, Bill Collector, Revenue Assistant, Tax Collector, Typist, Steno-Typist, Executive Officer Grade IV, Forest Watcher, Forest Guard and several other Group IV posts. The Commission has noted the vacancy figures are tentative and may be modified before counselling.
Eligibility and selection
Candidates who have passed Class 10 (SSLC) are broadly eligible, though some posts require higher secondary, a degree, or typewriting and shorthand qualifications. The age band runs from 18 to 30 years for most posts — 21 to 30 for Village Administrative Officers — with higher upper age limits for reserved categories as per TNPSC rules. Selection will be through a single OMR-based written examination, followed by certificate verification and counselling.
Key dates
Online applications opened on October 6, 2026, and close on November 5, 2026, at 11:59 PM. The application correction window will run from November 9 to 11, 2026. The written examination is scheduled for January 10, 2027, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The examination fee is Rs 100, with a separate Rs 150 One-Time Registration fee valid for five years; fee exemptions apply to eligible candidates under reserved categories as per TNPSC rules.
